The Journal You Always Wanted

Several years ago, I struggled with the daily grind and had trouble sleeping. I was overwhelmed by emails, decisions, and temper tantrums. Plus, I was still processing past worries and fears about my health. At the time, a buddy challenged me to try his daily journaling practice. At first, I rolled my eyes. I did not think journaling would help.

Darn it, he was right. This simple practice changed my life - and I’ve been consistently journaling for the last three years. Every evening before bed, I use the same template my friend shared years ago. I write five things I’m grateful for, five things I felt, five things I learned, two quick reflections, and three things to focus on tomorrow. The whole process takes less than five minutes.

Like me, you may conceptually understand the benefits of journaling but don’t know how to start. I created this template as a gift to you.

Commit to this practice daily for at least two weeks and see what happens. Consistency is key. If you stick to it, you may feel more grounded, grateful, and complete at the end of your day. Give your mind this gift.

This is the journal you always wanted!

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, I am most grateful for you and your support this year. Thank you for believing in me, trusting me, and growing together.

I created a printed template, but you can also use a blank page. This is what my journal looks like most days: thoughts ranging from the mundane to the profound.

Go for it! Let me know what works or doesn’t work!
